Our Mission

The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic lay organisation inspired by the Gospels of Jesus Christ. Vincentians work in a caring and practical manner to promote human dignity and justice through personal contact with those in need.

ASSISTANCE URGENTLY REQUIRED

The Holy Trinity (Bryndwr) Conference is one of three “Vinnies” Conferences working in the Christchurch North Parish. We have a long history of supporting those in need in our local community. Due to ill health, a number of our long serving members have recently had to step down. We are now urgently seeking new members. The work is very rewarding and the time commitment is not great (and less so the more new members we can attract!). Training will be given. If you have ever considered “giving something back” or would just like to discuss what is involved please contact Shelley on 021 244 9966 or shelley@svdpchch.co.nz

Many thanks to Hugo Trust who have made a significant donations to our Pavitt Street Project.

Our Housing Development Project

The Pavitt Street Social Housing project is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young families that have no place to call home.

To address this urgent need, the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul Christchurch has built an innovative housing project that will enable up to seven young families at one time to access warm, affordable and secure housing.  It will also help young parents to pursue employment, training and education opportunities so they can build a better future for themselves and their children.
