St Vincent de Paul Second Hand Shops
In Christchurch City we currently have three St. Vincent de Paul Shops, one at 265 Stanmore Rd in the suburb of Richmond, a recent new addition at 31 Shands Road,Hornby and a new rebuilt Store at 19 Langdons Rd in Papanui across from Northlands Mall. These shops serve a few different functions.
People kindly donate quality clothing, furniture and other goods to our shops. These are sorted by our volunteers and are either sold to the public at bargain prices with the proceeds going to assist the needy in our community in many different ways.
We also receive orders for some of these goods from welfare contacts in our communities including our St. Vincent de Paul Conferences. These goods go directly back out into the community at no cost to those who are most in need.
We would love to have more young adult and adult volunteers to help sort and distribute goods. We also need help to manage the shop front serving customers and keeping the shop looking professional. All funds raised in our shops go towards the good works of St. Vincent de Paul. If you think that this is something you would be willing to volunteer to help with please click here.
